Clay Majoras Mask

Who can say they haven't heard of the game Majoras mask.  It my opinion it is the second best game in the Zelda franchise, but that is just me.  Majoras Mask is speculated to be after the Ocarina of time, where Link dies and goes though purgatory meeting others that have faced death of loved ones or have died themselves. Anyway getting to the Mask part.  I wanted to do something for my lovely boyfriend that he would.  He adores skull kid and the Majoras Mask so with the help and advice from my sister I started working on a clay mask that lit up from behind to give a umbra affect on the wall.  It took longer then I thought but it came along very nice.  There will be a tutorial up soon but for now a picture of the finished work.  Sorry I haven't posted in awhile!

Meatloaf Cupcakes!

Recently I worked for a cupcake cafe and on top of that cupcakes have become a big hit in the past year.  A new trend you could say.  So I thought I could get a ride on the cupcake train.  *Lame joke I know.*  A few years ago my mother made meatloaf muffins.  Just her basic recipe for meatloaf but put it in muffin tins so it be a easier to grab and go dinner.  The recipe is as followed but with some minor changes and even a "Frosting" you could say.

2.25 ibs of Hamburger
2 Tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp BBQ/ more for toppings
1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
2 cups bread crumbs
2 1/2 cups Milk
2 Eggs
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp ground mustard
1/2 cup minced onion.

Topping:
Mashed potatoes about three or four cups
Cheese of your liking

1.Preheat oven to 350.
2. Easy way of doing it is just putting it all in a big bowl and mixing it with your hands.
3. Take a small amount and put it in a muffin pan so its about three fourth full.  Make a small indent in the middle of the meat and pour some BBQ sauce in the middle.  Just till you fill the indent.  I used my thumb for the indent.
4. Place into oven and cook for 25 to 30 minutes.  Pull out and place cheese on top, cool.
5.  After pulling the meatloaf out of the muffin pan, place them on a plate and scoop mash potatoes on top.  I just used a spoon and took as much as I wanted and scraped it off with the back of another spoon.  End results is a sweet meatloaf cupcake.  They were a big hit with the guys at my work!
P.s I know in the pictures it has the cheese on top of the mash potatoes.  I wanted to change it so the cheese has a chance to melt and be gooey.

chomping on the ear

Chain chomp earrings!

For this all you needs is

1.Black clay
2.White clay
3. Black or silver chain
4. Glue
5. Earring pieces

They are simple enough.  All I did was roll a small black ball and then cut out the part for the mouth to fit on my ear.  After that I placed white clay in the mouth for the teeth and re adjust it to make sure it fit once again.  Rolled two little white balls to place as the eyes.  Lastly before baking them I made a small hole for the chain to be able to fit into.  Baked it for as long as the clay packaged said, pulled them out and let them cool.  After cooled I used the sharpie to draw on the pupils and to give the teeth a jagged look.  (trust me trying to make the teeth jagged and to stay on was HARD.  So this was my solution)  Glued the earring backing into the mouth and placed a small dab of glue on the chain and stuck it into the hole on the bottom of it.  Simple and easy but very cute!

Boo Lamp!

Ever have a old lamp that you want to do something to?  I have several actually and was looking on pinterest on saw something close to this so I thought I give it a try.  I really love the boos in Mario and just had to make this!  So let me tell you how I did it.
To get started you are going to need:
1. a lamp
2. ping pong balls *found them in the sport section at walmart*
3. krazy glue
4. A black sharpie
5. A red sharpie

To start, find out how you want to make the lamp.  I had my boo's start at the farthest part away from the post on the lamp stand and then gradually moved inwards to give it balance.  After you decided how you want your boo's placed get to glueing.  Starting with a bottom ring I glued down the balls and for the rows above it I placed two small dots of glue on the bottom of a not glued down ping pong ball and placed it on the first ring of balls that was glued down.  I repeated this step doing this all the way up to the top.  Now I had troubles at some time on some did not fit how they wanted to but don't get discouraged you wont even notice the small gaps.
About half way I got to excited and started drawing faces on the ping pong balls. You can do that or just wait to all of them are on.  For the faces i alternated between the faces on each one of the balls and used black first then went back with the red sharpie.  Adding the blush and color to the tongues.  After all that was done the base of my lamp was completed and looked this this. Thanks for taking the time to read.  Hoped you like it and if you have any questions just message me!

Welcome to Mary Has A Little Blogger!

Firstly wanted to say thank you for stopping in and reading my blog! I hope to post up alot of different things that everyone can enjoy.  Like this lovely picture of a Luigi's hat cake that I had made just for fun one day.   Thought it was a good first post to show my love of cooking/baking and all things that are nerdy!

It was a simple rectangle cake that was trimmed down for the base of the hat.  The left overs were mixed together with some butter cream to become a kinda paste that was placed on the cake to get the bump at the top of the cake.  After the shape was constructed I covered it in my own marshmallow fondant.  For the bill of the cake it is just a sheet of the same fondant but the lip was made by folding the fondant underneath to give a bump.  After all the green fondant was on I used the rest to make a ball and the L logo.  The ball went on the back and then using a toothpick gave a wrinkle texture around it.  The L was placed on the half circle of white fondant.   I hope to re make this cake one day with more pictures to show how it was done.

Thanks for taking time to read my post.  Look forward to more.
